How It Works
The Street Mentor captures images from both cameras continuously at a high frame rate (4 frames per sound) to the temporary memory buffer.
VerifEye's smart g-sensor technology continuously monitors vehicle accelerations and creates triggers to initiate event recording to allocated memory buffers based on the severity of the g-force(s).
The StreetMentor has 3 event recording modes:
Collision Mode:
the unit records images (60 seconds pre/60 seconds post the event) whenever the g-trigger registers a longitudinal or lateral acceleration in excess of the collision preset level. the preset thresholds are dependent upon the size and type of vehicle - large bus/heavy truck, small truck, or sedan. The images are stored in protected memory for a minimum of 72 hours, after which time the memory is released and available to record additional collision events. The recording rate is the same as the capture rate - 4 frames per second. |
Rough Driving Mode:
the unit records images (15 seconds pre/15 seconds post the event) whenever the g-trigger registers a longitudinal or lateral acceleration in excess of the rough driving preset level. The images are stored in circular memory. Once the circular memory s full, new images will be recorded over the oldest images in the memory. The recording rate is half the capture rate - 2 frames per second. |
Emergency/Operator Initiated Mode:
the unit records images (90 seconds pre/90 seconds post the event) whenever the operator pushes the emergency button. The images are stored in protected memory for a minimum of 72 hours, after which time the memory is released and available to record additional emergency events. The recording rate is the same as the capture rate - 4 frames per second. |
Audio is recorded automatically in all 3 event recording modes.
